Abstract

1,065,539. Post-tensioned concrete; tank walls. A. M. JAMES. July 2, 1964, No. 27349/ 64. Headings E1T and E1W. Post-tensioning wires are separated from generally curved surfaces by rollers. The tank of Fig. 1 has concrete sections grouted together e.g. of 10b, and parallel sets of wires 24 anchored at four points 26 around the tank by collets 28 with internal wedges. The wires are spaced from the walls by short vertical rollers 30, and may be covered in another layer of concrete, (as in Fig. 7, not shown). The concrete beams shown in Figs. 8 and 10 employ rollers 58a and 72 respectively, which are clipped on to the wires before they are placed in position, the rollers having central peripheral grooves and clips 38 which are rotatable thereon.
