Abstract

A porous polyurethane foam contains a deposit of regenerated cellulose within the pores. The foam is saturated with a viscose, which is then expressed from the foam until its pores are not visibly blocked, with the viscose, then it is impregnated with a dilute acid which results in substantial regeneration of the cellulose, prior to the washing out of the soluble by-products preferably with water.
