Abstract

1,061,345. Pusher apparatus for furnaces. SUNBEAM EQUIPMENT CORPORATION. April 15 1965 [April 17, 1964], No. 16327/65. Heading F4B. A rod 27, mounted outside a furnace and reciprocated longitudinally to transfer work within the furnace enters the furnace through an opening 31 which is sealed by a ball 36 in a seating 37, the rod 27 moving the ball 36 up guides 38 as it enters the furnace. The rod is pivoted to an arm secured to an endless chain so that in its retracted position it is below the level of opening, its rear end is lifted by the arm as it is advanced and its head is guided up a slope 34 on the seal housing. The opening 31 for the pusher arm 27 may be in a door through which workpieces are fed from a roller way into the furnace, the retracted rod lying below the top of the rollers.
