Abstract

A mixture containing 50-20% ethylene-propylene rubber and 50-80% butyl rubber, the mixing having taken place at 100 DEG to 150 DEG C. is vulcanized by adding only a mixture of not more than 1% free sulphur and a dithiocarbamate as accelerator. The butyl rubber may be chlorinated or brominated and the product used as an electrical insulating material.
