A transparent or translucent wall, window or partition comprises a number of hollow bricks bonded together with a synthetic resin cement 12, each brick being formed as two tray-shaped members 1 bonded together with or without an intermediate frame 2. A decorative effect is provided by a refracting or filtering layer 9 having a roughened surface 10, the layer 9 being preformed and attached to each inner surface of a brick, or being cast into position in the brick. Each brick may be three-, four-, or six-sided in section.
