Abstract

A device for assisting a swimmer comprises plates 22, 24 adapted to be placed between the legs of a swimmer and clamped thereto, and a pair of fins 16 oscillatably mounted on a rod 40. The plates include projections 30, and means for adjusting the plates. Upon performing a "dolphin-like" kick the fins are caused by water force acting thereon to oscillate against action of springs 56 thus to provide additional propulsion for the swimmer. A fixed or pivoted stabilizing wing 20 may be provided.
