Abstract

A large number of specific compounds within the following formula are listed <FORM:1058381/C2/1> X being C5- 8 cycloalkyl or C7- 8 bicycloalkyl, either group being mono- or di-methyl or halogen substituted, m, n and y being 0 or 1, with the proviso that (CH3)n is in the m-position when X is cyclopentyl or C7- 8-cycloalkyl or -bicycloalkyl; they are apparently prepared by reacting the appropriate phenyl isocyanate and alcohol, or the aniline and the chloroformate of the alcohol.ALSO:A 20: 10: 10 turf food on vermiculite contains 4-8 wt. per cent of a compound for the control of annual grasses, having the formula <FORM:1058381/C1/1> (but excluding cyclohexyl carbonilate), wherein X is C5- 8 cycloalkyl or C7- 8 bicycloalkyl, either group being mono- or di-methyl or halogen substituted, m, n and y being 0 or 1, with the proviso that (CH3)n is in the m-position when X is cyclopentyl or C7- 8 cycloalkyl or bicycloalkyl.ALSO:The growth of annual grasses is inhibited by application of a compound (excluding cyclohexyl carbonilate) of formula <FORM:1058381/A5-A6/1> wherein X is C5-8 cycloalkyl or C7-8 bicycloalkyl, either group being mono- or di-methyl or halogen substituted, m, n and y being 0 or 1, with the proviso that (CH3)n is in the m-position where X is cyclopentyl or C7-8- cycloalkyl or-bicyloalkyl. The compounds may be used as wettable powders, dusts, suspensions, emulsifiable concentrates, granules, pellets (which may be densified pellets) or sand ground formulations and these compositions may contain other pesticides, many of which are specified.
