A tuner switch includes at least one rotor contact plate 50 or 52, mounted on the rotor (48) (Fig. 5, not shown), a plurality of spaced contact fingers (30) (Fig. 7, not shown), mounted on the insulating stator 12, and a plurality of contact clips 84 (Fig. 8, not shown) each electrically and mechanically connected to a respective one of the contact fingers (30) by a fused joint, e.g. by spot welding, and arranged for engagement with the rotor contact plate 50 or 52 upon relative rotation of the rotor assembly 14 and stator 12. Some clips (841) (Fig. 1, not shown) are longer than clips 84 for continuously engaging the rotor contact plate 50 irrespective of the angular position of the contact plate. Each rotor contact plate 50, 52 has a portion (83), (86) (Figs. 1, 2, not shown) of greater radius for engagement by shorter contact clips 84. Plates 50, 52 have mounting holes (60), (62), for fitting over projections 54, 56, on rotor (48) and openings (68), (70) for receiving pins (64), (66) on rotor (48), a heat seal connection being made by deforming the pins to form heads 67 holding plates 50 52 on rotor (48). Contact fingers (30) and their terminals 34 are located in slots (18) and openings 20 of stator 12 (Fig. 4, not shown) between ribs 24 providing bearings for the rotor (48). Rotor contact plates 50, 52 can be electrically interconnected by welding together tabs (72), (74) (Fig. 5, not shown). Plate 50 or 52 may have a rotor contact clip 90 for selectively engaging portions (32) of the contact fingers (30) to vary the switching. Frequency tuning screws (115) (Fig. 9, not shown) are inserted in apertured inserts (114) in stator 12 (Fig. 1, not shown).
