Abstract

1,058,035. Optical projection apparatus. T. GANZ and A. GANZ. Oct. 29, 1964 [Nov. 1, 1963], No.44246/64. Heading G2J. A plurality of projectors 12 are directed radially away from a central vertical housing 6 to throw still or moving pictures on to a corresponding number of separate retractable rear projection screens 1. Telescopic arms 5 are extended by means of compressed air passes into them from housing 6, thereby withdrawing each screen from one of the spring-return roller housings 2 mounted on horizontal bars 4 carried on the arms 5. The free end of each screen 1 is attached to a vertical rod 3 on an adjacent bar 4. Arms 5 are withdrawn by cables 7 wound on drums 8 driven by electric motor 9 on housing 6 through gear system 10 as in Fig. 4 (not shown). The apparatus may be suspended from a ceiling and slowly rotated by a further motor.
