Parts of a watch excapement are coated with "epilame" in the immediate vicinity of the surfaces which engage one another during operation of the excapement, but the said surfaces are not so coated, thereby avoiding undesirable spreading of lubricating oil from said surfaces without preventing satisfactory lubrication.
