Abstract

A cigarette incorporates a device which controls and indicates the length of cigarettes which may be smoked, the device consisting of a length of incombustible material surrounding the tobacco and forming a constriction in it, printed bands or marks being provided to give a visual indication on the outside of the cigarette. The band may be interleaved in the cigarette wrapping paper. Filters may be positioned in the cigarette with tobacco at one or both sides to assist in controlling the length which may be smoked.
