Abstract

A powder distributer suitable for use with deliquescent materials such as salt comprises a container 1 having a screwed base 2 at one end and an apertured disc 3 adjacent its top end, a fixed nozzle member 4 having perforations at one end and a base flange 5 cooperating with the disc 3 at the other, a loosely mounted member 9 star-shaped in cross-section and adapted to move back and forth when the container is shaken to break up any lumps of salt &c, and a closure device 7 adapted to slide in grooves 8 between the wall of the container 1 and the nozzle 4, said device 7 being adapted to close the perforations in the nozzle when the container is upright but to fall clear under gravity to allow the egress of salt &c., when the container is invented. The member 9 may seal the aperture in the disc 3 when the container is upright.
