Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1056045/C2/1> wherein R1 and R2 taken separately are hydrogen or C1- 8 alkyl, or taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached constitute a saturated heterocyclic amino radical -NZ of 5 to 7 nuclear atoms, wherein Z is alkylene, oxaalkylene or thiaalkylene, -CnH2nis alkylene having at least two carbon atoms between the valences, n is 2 to 4 and Y is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, trifluoromethyl, C1- 8 alkyl or C1- 8 alkoxy, provided that when Y represents hydrogen, <FORM:1056045/C2/2> does not represent dimethylaminopropyl; acid addition salts thereof; and a process for their preparation comprising reducing a compound of the formula <FORM:1056045/C2/3> with lithium aluminium hydride. Pharmaceutical compositions, active as central nervous system stimulants and pseudocholinesterase inhibitors, for oral or parenteral administration, comprise a compound of the invention together with a pharmaceutical carrier.
