Abstract

1,055,764. Rolling metal powder. SCHLOEMANN A.G. April 3, 1964 [May 3, 1963], No. 13811/64. Heading B5A. In a method of rolling metal into sheets or strips, metal particles are accelerated towards the bite of a pair of rolls so that they enter the gripping range with a speed which corresponds approximately to the peripheral speed of the rolls. As shown, the metal powder or granules 4 are delivered to a centrifugal device 6 via a hopper 3 and conveyer 2 and are thrown from the device 6 into the bite of rolls 1. In a second embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown), the axes of the rolls 1 are in a horizontal plane and the metal powder is allowed to fall under gravity from a conveyer 2.
