Abstract

1,054,057. Aerials. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. Oct. 15, 1963 [Oct. 19, 1962], No. 40639/63. Heading H4A. In a multi-mode aerial of the kind described in the parent Specification consisting of a waveguide structure terminating in a plurality of radiating apertures 9 . . . 12 and provided with a plurality of separate mode selecting channels ME 1 , ME 2 , the channels being fed from exciter means with wave energy of separately selectable mode, phase and amplitude characteristics, creating at the radiation aperture a prescribed radiation pattern by superposition of the wave energy flowing through the channels, there is further provided supplementary channels C and D containing loads of absorbing material 19, 20 (Fig. 3) for receiving and absorbing stray energy reflected from parasitic coupling between the output apertures.
