Abstract

1,054,035. Pipe joints. BIRWELCO Ltd. Aug. 17, 1964 [Aug. 29, 1963], No. 34147/63. Heading F2G. [Also in Division G1] Sealing gaskets 27 are compressed between the flanges 22 of outer pipes 21 and the flange 15 of a sleeve 12 screw-threaded internally to receive inner pipes 10, rotation of the sleeve drawing the pipes together and into sealing engagement with a gasket 31. The flange and locating shoulders 17 of the sleeve have passages therethrough to place the annular spaces on either side of the joint in communication, and radial passages 20 are provided in the flange so that fluid leaking from the inner joint may be readily detected.
