Abstract

1,054,000. Programme control of machine tools. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 24, 1963, No.30851/64. Heading G3N. A programmed numerical control system for positioning a machine tool, as disclosed in Specification 1, 019, 896, is modified by incorporating an error limiting circuit which develops an output signal when the phase relationship between the pulse train representative of desired velocity and the pulse train representative of actual velocity exceeds a predetermined value and inhibits the application of the desired velocity pulse train to the command phase counter controlling the tool servo mechanism until the actual tool position is such as to produce a phase relationship which is less than the predetermined valve. When the desired velocity pulse train is inhibited the command phase counter is read out by the pulse train from the timing generator.
