1,053,957. Pneumatic tyres. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. Oct. 11, 1963 [Nov. 12, 1962], No. 40194/63. Heading B7C. The carcass of a pneumatic tyre is formed from two webs 1, 2 of parallel cords which extend continuously from one bead 5 to the other bead 6 and are looped around the bead cores 7, the free ends 8, 9, 10, 11 of the two webs being led radially outwards to overlap in the tread region of the tyre in such a way that the number of ply ends on one side of the midcircumferential plane is greater than the number on the opposite side. The ends 8, 9 of the webs are separated by a greater distance than the ends 10, 11 so that the end 9 only is arranged to lie on one side of the midcircumferential plane. The ends 8, 10 are substantially superimposed as shown so that in the region of overlap the number of carcass plies is increased by one only.
