Abstract
1,052,116. Flotation apparatus. KOICHI NAKAMURA. Feb. 8, 1964 [Feb. 20, 1963; May 7, 1963], No. 6793/64. Heading B2H. A flotation tank is provided with a plurality of rotors 3, a flange-plate 4 positioned above each rotor, a cylinder 2 for feeding each rotor with gas to aerate the liquid and vertical guide plates 5 for directing the flow to a discharge outlet 8 positioned between limits 7 and 7' formed by intersecting lines 7', 4' and 7, 4', 3', the arrangement being such that the liquid passes from one rotor to another at increased depth for subsequent aeration. Fig. 10 shows one form of rotor 3 fed with liquid through an inlet pipe 11, the discharge outlet being provided with a rake 15; a further inlet pipe 11' is also provided, Fig. 11 (not shown). The bottom of the tank may be stepped as shown in Fig. 1 or it may be inclined, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), ore liquid being fed through an inlet pipe E and discharged as waste through an outlet F while the refined ore is discharged over the side by a rake C. The partitions between the rotors may be removed, Fig. 6 and 7 (not shown).
