A blowing nozzle for producing fibres from silicate melts, e.g. glass, by the nozzle blowing technique has at least the nozzle surfaces confining the fibre-carrying blast consisting of nickel or of an alloy predominantly consisting of nickel. If only the surfaces are plated, the nickel or nickel alloy forms a layer of thickness 1 mm. or less. The entire nozzle may be constructed of nickel or the nickel alloy.
