Abstract
1,051,642. N-substituted maleimide copolymers. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 8, 1965 [March 11, 1964]. No. 10301/64. Heading C3P. [Also in Division H1] An electrical conductor incorporates insulation which comprises a copolymer of (1) 99-1% molar of at least one N-substituted maleimide of formula where A is an alkyl, an aralkyl or an aryl radical in which one or more of the aromatically bound hydrogen atoms may be substituted, and (2) 1-99% molar of at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon. The maleimide may be N-phenyl N-o-tolyl or N-o-chlorophenyl maleimide and the hydrocarbon may be ethylene, propylene, styrene, isobutene or butadiene. The copolymer may be formed into sheets and used in capacitors or insulated cables.
