Abstract

1,051,219. Iron complexes of disazo dyes. FARBENFABRIK WOLFEN VEB. March 10, 1964, No. 10041/64. Heading C4P. The invention comprises 1: 1-iron complexes of disazo dyes of general formula in which X is a sulphonic acid group and Y is a chlorine atom or a methoxy radical. In an example the dyes of the above formula are slurried in alkali at 80-90‹ C. to which solution ferrous sulphate is added with stirring for one hour, acetic acid added to give pH 5-6 and the dye: iron complex is salted out. The dyes dye leather in yellow shades.
