An article suitable for sterilization by irradiation is made from a composition comprising a polyolefin, a non-toxic organic carboxylic acid containing no hydrocarbon substituent, an organic phosphite and optionally a dialkyl thiodipropionate. The phosphite may be trinonylphenyl phosphite and the acid may be adipic acid or benzoic acid. The specific application given is medical syringes.
