Abstract

1,050,476. Sodium alumino-silicates; zeolites. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. Aug. 30, 1963 [Oct. 2, 1962], No. 34391/63. Heading C1A. Type Y zeolite having the composition 1À0 + 0-2 Na 2 O : Al 2 O 3 : nSiO 2 wherein n has a value of 3-7 is prepared by forming an aqueous solution containing Na 2 O, SiO 2 , and Al 2 O 3 wherein the molar ratios of these materials are SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 = 5 to 7À5, Na 2 O/SiO 2 0À30 to 0À60, H 2 O/Na 2 O = 20 to 40, and crystallizing the desired zeolite from this solution by heating at a temperature of 80‹ to 120‹ C. for a period of 5 to 50 hours and separating the crystalline product from the mother liquor. Particularly preferred values of the above quoted ratios are given and claimed in the Specification.
