Abstract
1,050,434. N - trisubstituted borazoles. UNITED STATES BORAX & CHEMICAL CORPORATION. Sept. 2, 1963 [Aug. 31, 1962], No. 33617/62. Heading C2C. N-trisubstituted borazoles are made by reacting at elevated temperature a borazane of the formula H 3 B.NX, where X represents 1, 2 or 3 organic radicals with a total covalency of 3, with a primary amine of the formula R<SP>1</SP>NH 2 , where R<SP>1</SP> represents an organic group which is free from non-aromatic unsaturation and Zerewitinoff hydrogen. Suitable borazanes are described in Specification 952,811. Borazanes derived from heterocyclic tertiary amines may also be used. The preferred borazanes are derived from relatively volatile tertiary amines, for example N-trialkyl borazanes, in which the alkyl groups contain not more than four carbon atoms, and pyridine borane. Generally reac tion temperatures over 50‹ C., say 75-150‹ C., are employed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 984,806.
