Heading B2K. [Also in Division B4] The cutting edges of razor blades and tools especially garden tools are coated with polyethylene. The coating may also contain P.T.F.E. and a fluorocarbon oil plasticiser and may subsequently be heated. It may contain an epoxy resin binder. The Specification also refers to coatings of metallic sulphides, nitrides, iodides and molybdic xanthates; polyproylene, polyamides, polyformaldehyde, phenolformalde and urea-formaldehyde resins, acetal resins, polyvinylidene fluoride, polyisobutylene, cellulose acetate and ethers, vegetable oils and oxidized, sulphurized, phosphorized or chlorosulphonated oils, fatty acids and their esters, amides and soaps, alcohols, amines, aminohalides and ethers, fluorocarbon polymers and co-polymers with unsaturated hydrocarbons, fluorinated surface active agents, other fluorine compounds including fluroalkyl silanes and siloxanes, mixtures of fluorocarbons with siloxanes, molybdenum disulphide or graphite; and to application thereof as solids, powders, or liquids by flame spraying, immersion in fluidized beds; spraying, dipping, brushing or electrophonetic coating with dispersions; frictional transfer by stropping on a solid block, or direct bonding of a thin foil. A metal or plastic underlayer may be provided.
