Abstract

Suspended solids in aqueous media are settled by the addition to a portion of the liquid of an anionic or cationic polyelectrolyte and to another portion of the liquid a polyelectrolyte of the opposite charge and then combining the two portions. A large number of examples of polyelectrolyte is given.
