Abstract
An insulating supporting post for a cathoderay tube electron gun mount is formed from a porous glass composition so as to act also as a vapour getter. A suitable glass composition is approximately 96.5% SiO2, 3% B2O3 and 0.5% Al2O3 by weight. The stem or other dielectric parts associated with the electron gun mount assembly may also be made of porous glass to act as getters.
