Abstract

A fibre or film comprises a mixture or reaction product of (A) a polyester with (B) (a) a polymer or copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound or (b) a sulphonated polymer or copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound. The fibre or film may comprise the sulphonated form of a mixture or reaction product of (A) with (B)(a). Specified components are (A) polyethylene terephthalate and polyesters derived from glycols and dicarboxylic acids (which may contain small proportions of amide, urethane, urea or ether bonds) and (B) homo-polymers of styrene or vinyl toluene or a copolymer of styrene and dichlorostyrene.
