Abstract
1,048,402. Multiplex radio signalling. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. May 24, 1965 [July 31, 1964], No. 21948/65. Heading H4L. In an arrangement for providing common amplification of at least two modulated carriers of different frequencies and different required output energies, e.g. television sound and vision carriers, the video carrier is applied to terminal 17 and the audio carrier to terminal 18 of a 3 db. coupler 19, the input carrier energies at terminals 17 and 18 being 20 and 40 watts respectively. The output from 19 is supplied via coupling coil 12 to cavity 1 of a four-cavity klystron. Cavity 2 contains a coil 13 which is connected to a resistor 16 to flatten the frequency characteristic of the klystron. The sound carrier is supplied via coupling coil 14 in cavity 3 and filter 21 to a combining circuit 24 feeding the common aerial 25, any vision signal at this point being absorbed by resistor 22, and the vision carrier is supplied via coupling coil 15 in cavity 4 to the combining circuit, the video carrier energy being about 10 kw. and the audio carrier energy about 2 kw. Alternatively, the audio output may be taken from both coils 13, 14 or from coil 13.
