A lighting installation especially for use with inclined areas such as escalators comprises two or more light sources and a reflector 3 of elongated S form for each source, the ends of adjacent reflectors overlapping one another with the sources located in the spaces so formed. The lamps are supported in slots in brackets 7 welded to the reflectors 3 by means of brackets 11 secured by nuts 12 and bolts 13 to brackets 10 secured at their opposite ends to clips 8 on the supporting structure 9, the reflectors 14 being clamped between the brackets 10 and 11.
