Abstract
1,047,414. Lead-in arrangements; bushing insulators. LE MATERIEL ELECTRIQUE S.W. Feb. 12, 1965 [Feb. 12, 1964], No. 6208/65. Headings H2C and H2E. The conductor in an insulating bushing 6, particularly for use as a lead-in to a liquidimmersed transformer, is divided into a number of sections 1 each made up of several insulated cables helically arranged around a support 13. The conductor sections terminate at one end in rods 2 with lugs 21 for connection to bus-bars, and at the other end in lugs for connection to the transformer winding. The rods 2 are mounted in an end-plate 3, which is preferably insulating, retained by the bushing 6 which is secured to a fixing collar 7. An inner insulating cylinder 5, which may incorporate capacitor plates, has apertures 51 to permit the liquid dielectric which passes through holes in a lower plate 4 and through the cable supports 13, to flow along the bushing 6 for cooling purposes.
