Abstract
1,047,251. Dispensing liquids. H. TATSUNO. April 9, 1963 [July 5, 1962], No. 14081/63. Heading A4T. [Also in Divisions B1 and F2] Two liquids A, B are pumped by pumps 13, 14 through flowmeters 8, 12 which respectively rotate coaxial members 4, 5 in a cylinder 1 through which the liquid A flows so long as ports 2, 3 in the members 4, 5 are in register. If there is excess flow of liquid A through the meter 8, the movement out of register of the ports 2, 3 will reduce its flow until the system regains equilibrium ;while if there is excess flow of B through the meter 12, the flow of A will be cut off until the members 5 has completed a revolution. If the reservoir 16 is exhausted the member 5 will stop and the flow of A will also be cut off. One of the ports 2, 3 may be of elongated cross section to reduce the sensitivity of the device. The device may be used for making a petrol/ oil mixture for a two-stroke engine in which excess oil is not objectionable but excess of petrol is, the liquids A. B being petrol and oil respectively. In a modification, Fig. 3 (see also Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) the rotary members are in the form of interengaging cylindrical shells 18, 19 through ports in which the liquid B is passed. An additional pair of ports is brought into register if the flow of B is reduced or ceases due to failure of gearbox 11 or flowmeter 12, giving access to a diaphragm 34 whereby the valve 33 in the flow of A is partially or wholly closed.
