Abstract

A knitted velours is produced from synthetic monofilar or multifilar polyamide or polyacrylonitrile threads on a warp knitting machine by a part set third guide bar which holds the lapping threads of the second guide bar in the longitudinal direction, the fabric being finished by a brushing process which produces a ribbed velour effect.
