Abstract

1,046,035. Ovens for laboratory use. CONTRONICS Ltd. July 9, 1963 [July 11, 1962], No. 26628/62. Headings F4B and F4W. An oven, particularly for testing the effect of temperature on small electronic assemblies, comprises a double walled, open bottomed box 1 supported so that it can be lowered to enclose a support 16 for the apparatus under test or raised to expose apparatus on the support 16 and a counterpoise arrangement such that the box 1 is held against a base 14 by grvaity in its lowered position, and can remain in its fully raised position or in intermediate positions. The oven 1 is supported by a pair of links 22 pivoted to the oven wall, and to a back plate 18 at each side. A bar 23 between the lowermost links 22 is connected to a bar 24 by springs 25, which form the counterpoise. The oven is heated by an electric element 6 embedded in a fibre glass strip wrapped round the inner shell of the oven. The inner shell has its inside surface blackened, and the temperature of the oven is thermostatically controlled.
