Abstract

1,045,704. Calf feeds. MONSANTO CO. Dec. 24, 1963 [Dec. 26, 1962], No. 50822/63. Heading A2B. A calf feed contains (a) an unsaturated carboxylic acid, preferably having 14-22 carbon atoms, an ester and/or salt thereof (b) whey and/or skim milk and (c) a 2, 2, 4-trimethyl, 1, 2-dihydroquinoline, e.g. 6- ethoxy-2, 2, 4-trimethyl-1, 2- dihydroquinoline. Ingredient (b) is preferably used in dehydrated form and may also be any residue of whole milk from which at least the butter fat and cassin have been removed. A dry preparation for dispersal in water is a preparation of maize oil in a dried skim milk, dried whey, iodized salt, tricalcium phosphate, soya lecithin, 6- ethoxy-2, 2, 4-trimethyl- 1, 2-dihydroquinoline, chlorotetracycline, vitamin A, trace minerals and vitamin mixture.
