Abstract

1,044,616. Mixing foodstuffs. G.& R. GILBERT Ltd. March 24, 1965 [Jan. 13, 1964], No. 49269/63. Heading B1C. Foodstuffs, e.g. dough mixtures, are subjected to a pre-determined cycle of pressure changes while being mixed; as shown, dough in the mixer 1 may be subjected to an aeration phase by closing both the valves A of the pump 7, or a reduced pressure phase by closing both the valves B. The energy consumption of the motor during each phase may be measured by a walt-hour meter 14 (see Fig. 2, not shown), which supplies signals to presettable counters; these operate change-over switches, or stop the main motor, when they have counted up to their pre-set values. Alternating the various phases may be controlled on an elapsed time basis. Additional ingredients may be added during mixing.
