Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1043157/C2/1> wherein R1 is a C1- 4 acyl group, and thei preparation by ozonolysis and reduction of a compound of formula <FORM:1043157/C2/2> to form the 21-glycolate of the compounds of the invention, followed by selective 21-hydrolysis. The compounds of the invention have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic activity, and may be used in pharmaceutical compositions in combination with a carrier.
