Abstract

1,041,437. Photographic silver halide emulsions. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. Oct. 7, 1964 [Oct. 17, 1963], No. 40888/64. Heading G2C. A light-sensitive photographic gelatin silver halide emulsion, particularly an ammonia-type X- ray gelatin silver bromide emulsion, is rendered positive working by dispersing therein from 0. 01% to 0. 1% of phenyl thiourea based on the total weight of the liquid emulsion. The phenyl thiourea may be added in solution in triphenyl phosphate or tricresyl phosphate. The emulsion may contain colour couplers to give positive colour images or may be used in conjunction with tanning developers to produce positive wash-off relief images.
