Abstract

An oxidation catalyst comprises between 27 and 52% Al, 1 - 32% Cu, 0.01 - 2.5% Ag and up to 5% of water. The catalyst may be prepared conventionally e.g. precipitating Al(OH)3 and Cu(OH)2 from Al2(SO4)3 and CuSe4 using NH4OH or NaOH, impregnating the precipitate with AgNO3 and calcining. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 942,841.
