Abstract

1,037,768. Clocks and watches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb. 8, 1965 [March 6, 1964], No. 5296/65. Heading G3T. An alarm clock comprises an opaque dial 11, 12, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), with a hole 28 therein, a light conducting member 13, a bulb 16, and a shutter 27, Fig. 5 (not shown), operatively linked to an alarm setting lever 21 to give an indication when the alarm is set. Shutter 27 includes a sleeve 32, pivotally mounted on a stud 20, cam-surface 33, light-blocking portion 38 and a return spring 40. Lever 21 includes a portion 26 to act on cam surface 33. In operation, when the lever 21 is moved axially towards the dial 11 to lock the alarm vibrator, surface 26 engages surface 33 to rotate portion 38 and block the opening 28. Reverse movement of the lever 21 allows this portion 38 to be moved by the spring 40 to uncover the hole 28.
