Abstract
Ferrous metal articles are protected against corrosion by application of an amine borate in solid form. The borate is reduced to a fine powder and may be applied by blowing on or dusting. Alternately it may be suspended in a liquid e.g. water, a lower alcohol, and applied by dipping &c. Examples of suitable borates are cyclo-hexylamine, bi, tri or tetra borates and alkalamine borates; the powder particles are .1 mm diameter or less.
