Abstract

The pentapeptide, HAsp(NH2)-S-Bz-Cys-Pro-Ile-GlyNH2 (Bz = Benzyl) is prepared by reacting CBO-Asp(NH2)-S-Bz-Cys-O-Alkyl (or O-Aralkyl) (CBO = carbobenzoxy) with hydrazine, converting the hydrazide with nitrous acid into the azide, reacting this with HPro-Ile-GlyNH2 and removing the CBO-group from the product or by reacting CBO-Asp(NH2)-S-Bz-Cys-OH with HPro-Ile-GlyNH2 in the presence of a carbodiimide. HPro Ile-GlyNH2 is prepared by reacting HIleGlyOEt with CBO-ProOH to give CBO-Pro-Ile-GlyOH, forming the amide and removing the CBO-group.
