Abstract

A nitrocellulose or acrylic lacquer composition contains as surface-active agent, suitably in a proportion of 0.1-4% by weight, a trialkanolamine salt of lauryl sulphate, a polyethylene glycol monooleate or stearamido propyl b -hydroxyethyl-dimethylammonium nitrate.ALSO:Polystyrene articles are coated with a nitrocellulose or acrylic lacquer composition containing a surface active agent, to reduce their tendency to become electrostatically charged and pick up dust. The lacquer may suitably contain 0.1-4% by weight of the surface active agent. Specified surface-active agents include a trialkanolamine salt of lauryl sulphate, a polethylene glycol mono-oleate and stearamido propyl b -hydroxyethyldimethyl ammonium nitrate.
