Abstract
1,031,287. Spray-producers. ROTOLIFT MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. July 17, 1964 [July 17,1963], No. 28215/63. Heading B2F. A nozzle device having a readily controllable outlet 28, Fig. 1, comprises a spigot 11 having a hose connection 12 on which is rotatably mounted, in fixed axial relationship, a body member 10 incorporating the outlet. The body member embodies an internal screw thread 18 which engages a similar thread on the outer perimeter of a nut 17 having four equi-angular disposed radial slots. This nut is part of an internal unit comprising a valve member 26 and a nozzle restrictor member 19 and rotation of the unit is prevented through a tongue 16 projecting from the spigot 11 into each slot of the nut. The valve member 26 may coact with a seating 27 formed in the spigot 11 whilst the outer end of the member 19 has a head 24 shaped to coact with the outlet 28 to thereby control the shape of the discharge spray. Rotation of the body member 10 in the appropriate direction controls the fluid flow through the nozzle device via the valve member 26, and the discharge spray through the coacting head 24 and outlet 28. In an alternative form of the device the valve member 26 is replaced by a removable jumper type valve assembly whilst the nut 17 is not integral with the unit but is secured to the member 19.
