TG3 are connected directly to non-numerical switching groups TKG1 ... TKG3 while incoming trunks VL are connected to the same groups by way of an auxiliary switching stage MK under the control of a unit VM which measures the traffic in the several groups and causes the incoming calls to be directed to the groups that are most lightly-loaded. If all the groups TKG1 ... TKG3 are fully loaded, incoming calls may be directed to further switching groups KGX.
