Abstract

Polymers are prepared by reactin ethylene oxide with lanolin or with a mixture of lanolin and a polyhydric alcohol. The latter may be ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerol, sorbitol, sorbitan, mannitol or mannitan. The polymers are prepared by heating the reactants with a catalyst such as the alkoxide, oxide or hydroxide of lithium, potassium, sodium, calcium, zinc or lead.
