Abstract

1,028,048. Dishwashing apparatus. DAWSON BROS. Ltd., D. DAWSON and G. DAWSON. Feb. 11, 1965 [Nov. 13, 1963], No. 44760/63. Heading A4F. Dishwashing apparatus particularly for use in hospitals or canteens comprises a cabinet for receiving a trolley carrying the articles to be washed by liquid discharged from spray pipes 11 projecting from a carriage 9 reciprocated laterally by sprocket and chain gearing 17, 18 (Fig. 4, not shown) or by crank mechanism. Detergent liquid is fed to the spray pipes 11 by a pump 14 from a tank 20 containing a thermostatically controlled steam heating coil 21, and which may be provided with an automatic detergent dispenser. The used detergent liquid returns to the tank 20 via filters 27. The spray pipes 11 may also be connected to a pipe 16 (Fig. 2, not shown) for supllying hot rinsing water which passes to the tank 20 and thence to drain through an overflow device 24. The washing and rinsing cycles are automatically controlled.
