A pictorial relief representation 2 (Fig. 1, not shown) comprises a sheet of polystyrene whose lower portion 3 is moulded, by vacuum or pressure forming, over a reinforcing base 4, of wood, plastics or metal. Block 4 may be ribbed to provide a key for the polystyrene, which is trimmed flush with the flat rear face of the block.
