Abstract

Controllers, actuating-mechanism for. - In a controller for use with transformers &c. for starting motors, which has its starting and running positions on opposite sides of the zero position, a pin on a sliding plate in the hand-lever works in a recessed plate guide so that the handle can only be operated in one direction when starting. The recessed plate B is attached to the casing, and the slide pin E' in the hand-lever engages the notch C' in the ' off ' position and prevents the handle on the spindle D<1> from being moved to the right. At starting, the handle is moved to the left, and the pin E<1> raises the catch C<2> en its pivot C<3> and passes beyond it, so that the catch falls into position again. The handle can then be moved to the extreme right position. If the motor does not start with the controller in its first position, the handle may be brought to zero by allowing the pin to return through the gap C<6>.
